Rev. Festas Katana Munga

Rev. Festas Katana Munga
Pastor Festas Katana Munga was born in 1987 in Pingilikani village, Kilifi County, Kenya. He hails from a family of Mijikenda traditionalists, with his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Katana Munga, upholding their ancestral beliefs. However, his mother, Jumwa Katana, gave her life to Christ and later passed away in 2017. Raised in humble circumstances, Pastor Festas’ life is a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness and grace.
He attended Pingilikani Primary School from 1992 to 1999, before moving to Mtwapa town, where his life took a significant turn.
Early Career
Upon his arrival in Mtwapa, Pastor Festas worked as a caretaker on a farm in Mzambarauni. He later transitioned into a security
officer role in 2008. It was during this time that he experienced a profound spiritual awakening. Feeling God’s call to prepare him for His service, Pastor Festas gave his life to Christ, with the guidance of a neighbor who led him to faith.
Spiritual Journey
In 2010, Pastor Festas joined Kings Highway Baptist Church (KHBC) in Mtwapa, where he was introduced to the faith by his
friend, Pastor Mtawali Mbega. Under the mentorship of Apostolic Bishop Fred Indangasi, he flourished spiritually and developed a passion for ministry.
He became an active member of the church’s Intercessors Network and the Follow- Up Committee. His deepening commitment to ministry led him to take on the role of evangelist, spreading the message of God’s Kingdom wherever he went.
Family and Ministry
In 2018, Pastor Festas married Mrs. Felistas Shiunguu Munga, a partnership that has been both blessed and impactful. In 2019, they were appointed to serve at KHBC Rila, where Pastor Festas was named Senior Pastor, overseeing the ministry across Kwale County, including KHBC Maro. Together, they continue to lead the church with passion and dedication.
The couple is blessed with a daughter, Abigail Munga, and continues to serve the Lord through their growing ministry.
