Rev. Mathew Matayo Shilisia
Rev. Mathew Matayo Shilisia was born on March 26, 1976, in Shabwali village, Shinyalu, Kakamega County, to Zakariah Agugu
Shilisia and Alice Shilisia, both devoted members of the church. He is married to Dolly, and together they are blessed with four children: Shadrack, Praise, Gloria, and Promise.
Mathew completed his primary education at Shabwa Primary School between 1985 and 1992, after which he attended Malava Boys High School and Lugala Secondary School from 1989 to 1996.
After finishing his secondary education, he relocated to Mtwapa, Mombasa, to join his mother, who was working there at the time. In 2001, he enrolled at Kenya Utalii College, where he pursued a Certificate Course in Housekeeping and Laundry Techniques, completing his studies in two years.
In 2010, Pastor Mathew began his career in the hospitality industry, where he continues to work while also serving in pastoral ministry. During his time in Mtwapa, he gave his life to Christ in 1999 at Hope of Life Church under the leadership of Pastor Amos. Through God’s grace, Pastor Mathew was elevated to the position of youth pastor, and later, associate pastor, in 2005.
In 2011, Pastor Mathew met Apostolic Bishop Fred Indangasi for the first time during a crusade in Mtwapa, Mtomondoni.
That same year, he became a member of Kings Highway Baptist Church and began working alongside Bishop Fred in various missions and crusades around Mtwapa. Through Bishop Fred’s mentorship, Pastor Mathew was introduced to preaching and evangelistic work, which deepened his calling.
Since then, Pastor Mathew has served as an associate pastor at Kings Highway Baptist Church Headquarters, where he continues to minister to the congregation with passion and dedication.
