Rev. Peter Mtawali Mbega

Rev. Peter Mtawali Mbega

Rev. Peter Mtawali was born and raised in an Islamic family in Mwapula village, Kilifi County, along Kenya’s coast. He attended Madrasah at the Msumarini Majilis Islamic Center. At the age of 18,
in 2007, Pastor Peter experienced a life-changing encounter with Christ and gave his life to Him at a PEFA church. His conversion, which was seen as a betrayal by his Islamic family, marked the beginning of his journey in faith.

After his conversion, Pastor Peter moved to Mtwapa for his secondary education. There, he joined Kings Highway Baptist Church, where he was baptized and placed under the mentorship of Apostolic Bishop Frederick Indangasi. His passion and dedication for ministry became evident, and over the next three years, he underwent intensive training in prayer and fasting, leadership, discipleship, and fieldwork activities such as evangelism, door-to-door outreach, open-air meetings, Jesus’ film screenings, and drama. It was during this period that he clearly felt God’s call to ministry at the age of 24.

Pastor Peter’s ministry has taken him across various villages and towns within Kenya, and even into neighboring countries like Tanzania. He has been deeply
committed to fulfilling the Great Commission as outlined in Matthew 28:19-20, spreading the gospel wherever he goes.

In 2016, he was sent to one of the churches in Mtito Andei, where he served in Jesus Film evangelism and revival meetings for one and a half years. Following this, in August 2018, he was transferred to Nairobi, where he currently serves as the resident pastor of a Kings Highway Baptist Church (KHBC) congregation. Pastor Peter is passionate about continuing his education in ministry and missions to better equip himself as a seasoned minister of the gospel. In 2023, he enrolled at Baptist Theological College Seminary, where he completed his certificate and is currently pursuing a diploma.
His passion for evangelism and pastoral ministry continues to grow as he deepens his knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. Pastor Peter is married to Furaha Mtawali, and together they make their home in Nairobi, Kenya. He serves as the lead pastor of Kings Highway Baptist Church Jacaranda, continuing to lead with dedication and a heart for the gospel.
